YESTERDAY’S action at the Under 19 World Cup saw Groups B, C and D wrap up, with some intriguing results in the bunch.
Australia vs Nepal
Australia remains undefeated so far this tournament after picking up an 83 run win over Nepal.
Australia only made 6/139 from its 20 overs, but then restricted the tournament debutants to just 8/56 from their 20 overs.
Caoimhe Bray made 45 to really be the backbone of the Australian batting innings, before Hasrat Gill, Juliette Morton and Lily Bassingthwaighte all took a pair of wickets each.
Meanwhile for Nepal Puja Mahato took three wickets, while Seemana KC took two.
Pakistan vs Ireland
Ireland has pulled off a remarkable win to progress through to the Super Sixes stage of the tournament.
After rain reduced the match to just nine overs per side, Ireland made 5/69 before Pakistan then had to chase a revised target of 73 but only made 7/59.
Ellie McGee was the best of the Irish bowlers with two wickets, while Memoona Khalid also took two wickets for Pakistan.
South Africa vs Nigeria
Nigeria has crashed down to Earth after its first ever win, comfortably losing to South Africa.
After rain reduced their match to just eight overs, South Africa made 2/49 before restricting Nigeria to just 8/24.
Sehnie Naidu and captain Kayla Reyneke took two wickets each for South Africa, while for Nigeria captain Piety Lucky also took two wickets.
Bangladesh vs Scotland
Bangladesh has picked up its second win of the tournament after downing Scotland by 18 runs.
Bangladesh only made 9/121, but then restricted the Scottish to 8/103.
Mst Anisa Akter Soba took a quartet of wickets for the victors, while Nayma Sheikh and Maisie Maceira took two wickets each for Scotland.
England vs USA
The Americans also came crashing back after their first ever win, this time falling to England by eight wickets.
USA first made 5/119, before England reached that target with just over five and a half overs to spare.
Trudy Johnson had a true allrounder’s game, taking two wickets with the ball and making 44 runs with the bat.
Prisha Thanawala also took two wickets, while Davina Perrin smashed 74 off just 45 balls.
Meanwhile Anika Kolan made 46 with the bat for the USA.
New Zealand vs Samoa
New Zealand is finally on the board this tournament after beating Samoa by 67 runs.
New Zealand only made 9/107 from its 20 overs, but then bowled Samoa out for just 40.
Eve Wolland made 48 with the bat for New Zealand, before Tash Wakelin and Rishika Jaswal took three wickets each and Sophie Court took two.
Meanwhile for Samoa Olive Lefaga Lemoe took a trio of wickets while Verra Farane took two.
