No more undefeated teams left in WIPL

THERE are no longer any undefeated teams in the Women’s Indian Premier League this season after the Mumbai Indians defeated the Royal Challengers Bengalaru by four wickets overnight.

Chasing 168 for victory, the Indians almost ran out of overs but eventually reached the target on the penultimate ball of the innings.

Leading from the front for the Indians was Harmanpreet Kaur, who smashed 50 off just 38 balls. Natalie Sciver-Brunt also continued her good form, going at a strike rate of 200 on her way to 42.

Meanwhile for the RCB it was a pair of Aussies who led the way with the ball, with Georgia Wareham picking up a trio of wickets and Kim Garth picking up two.

Earlier the Royal Challengers’ batting innings was categorised by a steady progression towards its eventual tally, with partnerships not exceeding at most 46.

Another Aussie in Ellyse Perry starred with the bat for the Royal Challengers, making 81 off just 43 balls.

Meanwhile, Amanjot Kaur was the pick of Mumbai’s bowlers, taking three wickets, while almost every other bowler used took one wicket.
