Stats Recap: 2024/25 One-Day Cup

THE 2024/25 One-Day Cup is quickly drawing to its conclusion, with all 21 regular season fixtures now in the books. South Australia will host Victoria for the inaugural Dean Jones Trophy on March 1, but before that goes down, catch up on which players led the key statistical categories this season.
>> FINAL DAY RECAP: Kellaway catapults Vics into One-Day final
Tasmanian powerhouse Mitchell Owen dominated the batting charts despite finishing outside of the top five run-getters. Many of the opener’s 239 runs came in his 48-ball century against SA where he was dismissed for 149. Owen’s strike rate of 206.03 was outstanding, with no other batter boasting a rate of over 140 – let alone 200.
South Australia’s Mackenzie Harvey put together a brilliant season with the bat. His 311 runs led all-comers in a campaign where he was the only player to score two centuries. Both tons featured among the top five individual scores for the season, making for an average of 62.20 across six innings. He’ll likely play a key part in the final.
Harvey’s native state, Victoria will have something to say about that. The Vics were all over the bowling tallies, with three players – Peter Siddle (14), Sam Elliott (14), and Todd Murphy (11) in the top five wicket takers. Domestic Player of the Year Beau Webster beat out all of them, though, taking 16 poles for the season.
Webster claimed his wickets at a remarkable average of 9.56, going at just 4.5 runs per over with a competition high of five maidens. His best figures (6-17) were topped only by Elliott’s record breaking 7-12, which ironically came against Tasmania. Webster only made 31 runs in three innings, averaging 10.33 with a high score of 14.
Victorian gloveman Sam Harper cashed in on his side’s bowling stocks to contribute to 13 dismissals. His feats included a high of six in a single innings, and three stumpings – more than any other wicketkeeper. Teammate Marcus Harris also nabbed the most catches of any fielder with six in as many innings.
