Gujarat resign Royal Challengers to trio of losses

THE GUJARAT Giants have pulled off an epic upset in the Women’s Indian Premier League overnight, defeating Royal Challengers Bengaluru by six wickets.
After a stellar bowling display, the Giants ended up needing to chase just 126, which they did so in 16 and a half overs.
As she has done so a lot all tournament, Gujarat captain Ash Gardner again played a huge part in the Giants’ victory. The Aussie star took a wicket alongside Kashavee Gautam and Tanjua Kanwer (who took two), before belting 58 off just 31 balls to help get her side over the line.
Meanwhile for the Royal Challengers, Renuka Singh and Georgia Wareham tried to curtail the Gujarat juggernaut with two wickets each, but it was in vain.
This is now three losses in a row for the defending champions, and will be looking to snap that in a couple of days against Delhi. Gujarat meanwhile will be looking to make it two wins in a row when they play the UP Warriorz early next week.
