FOR THE second time in three days New South Wales has defeated Queensland, this time by two wickets.

After bowling Queensland out for 216, the Breakers cut it fine but reached the target with 21 balls to spare in their innings.

There were some sizeable partnerships in the Queensland partnership, but nothing that really stood out. The biggest partnership of the innings was the 52-run fourth wicket partnership.

The one staple of the innings though was skipper Jess Jonassen, who struck 10 fours and a six on her way to an 89 that was the true backbone of the innings. By comparison, the next highest scorer was Georgia Voll with 33.

Meanwhile for NSW, although some bowlers were expensive, every single bowler that was used took at least one wicket. Sarah Coyte was the pick of them with three wickets to her name, while Lauren Cheatle and Samantha Bates took two each.

In reply the Breakers got off to a much better start than their hosts had, putting on an 85 run opening stance and ultimately finding themselves cruising with nine and a half overs to go.

However, once Tahlia Wilson fell at that 41 and a half over mark, things started to fall apart for the Breakers. They went from 4/204 to 7/209 in almost three overs.

Thankfully for NSW they were able to stem the bleeding and get the job done with plenty of time to spare.

Wilson was the absolute star of the innings for NSW, but fell three agonising runs short of a century. Her innings did include 12 fours.

Anika Learoyd also had a solid innings with bat in hand, hitting three fours and smashing a six on her way to 44.

Meanwhile for Queensland, Grace Parsons was the bright spark with the ball in hand, taking four wickets, while Jonassen, Nicola Hancock and Lucy Hamilton took one each.
