A DOUBLE header yesterday at the MCG in the Women’s Big Bash League saw a high scoring win to the Sydney Thunder, while the Melbourne Renegades repeated history in the Melbourne Derby.
Sydney Thunders past Perth

The Scorchers made 5/170 before the Thunder reached the target with an over to spare. The Thunder were also helped by the fact that Perth conceded a whopping 16 extras, but the Thunder also conceded 11 of their own in the bowling innings.
Georgia Voll had another great day with bat in hand for the Thunder, this time making 97 not out in an innings that included 13 fours and a six. Earlier Taneale Peschel took three wickets, while Shabnim Ismail picked up two.
Meanwhile for the Scorchers Sophie Devine and Amy Edgar were the two bowlers to pick up a wicket, while earlier Devine also made 44 with the bat, but was outscored by a 64-ball 97 from Beth Mooney.
