WBBL08 Star Performances: Fortnight One

WE are a fortnight down in the WBBL08 season, so let us take a look at some of the best individual performances from players across the tournament thus far.

Amanda-Jade Wellington

Adelaide Strikers star Amanda-Jade Wellington went on a record breaking spree against the Renegades, taking 5/8 off 3.5 overs.

She took a couple of wickets early in the Renegades’ innings, before coming back to finish the job and add to her tally.

Lauren Smith

Lauren Smith’s memorable performance is also with the ball, and her 5/17 came against Perth just under a week ago.

Most of her wickets came at the tail end of Perth’s innings, but it ensured her side were able to get the win as Perth could not reach the target.

Georgia Redmayne

The batting performance of the season thus far goes to Brisbane Heat opener Georgia Redmayne.

Up against the Renegades in Mackay, Redmayne’s unbeaten 98 was not only just two runs shy of the first and only century of the season to date, but also helped her team reach the mammoth tally of 1/180 off their 20 overs.

Suzie Bates

Sydney Sixers’ Emily Bates may have had an up and down start to the season with the bat, but on one particular day in Mackay she showed why she is such a valuable asset to her new team.

She hit 82 not out, and combined with Ellyse Perry‘s 58, helped the Sixers compile a very competitive tally and ultimately the win.
