2021 SSN signing update: 1/10

2022 SUNCORP Super Netball signings have continued to trickle out this week, with Adelaide Thunderbirds joining the list of clubs with a full squad confirmed for the upcoming season.

The Thunderbirds have continued their recent trend off locking down developing local talent, officially elevating former training partner Tayla Williams after an impressive season in the Netball South Australia Premier League this year. The versatile midcourter is a speedy and evasive type, using her great endurance to play out in centre or either of the wing positions with her game smarts. Thunderbirds’ High Performance Manager Pitre Bourdon said the 21-year-old has earnt her elevation with her commitment to her craft and has plenty to offer to the main list in 2022.

“Tayla is a very promising local talent who can play all three midcourt positions,” Bourdon said. “She is incredibly hard-working and has shown true dedication to the club during her two seasons as a training partner.

“Not only is she a great netballer, Tayla is also a great person, and we know she will be a wonderful addition to our list for 2022.”

Williams completes the Thunderbirds’ 2022 squad, with the Thunderbirds joining Collingwood Magpies, Melbourne Vixens, NSW Swifts, GIANTS Netball and Sunshine Coast Lightning with a confirmed 10-player roster.

West Coast Fever has unveiled its eighth signing for next season, re-signing attacker Emma Cosh. The goal attack turned wing is a skilful returnee to the fray, and says she’s excited to continue her netball journey with the club once more next season.

“It’s a real privilege to have this opportunity and I am thankful I can continue to grow as a player to reach my full potential,” Cosh said. “Looking back on last season, although we didn’t get the end result, there were many positives and we have taken away some great learnings. I am really looking forward to building again in 2022.

“I believe as a club we are in a really great place, which is why I cannot wait to get back on court as a team and continue to grow and bring home a premiership. It’s also a really exciting time to have Dan entering the Fever family and I’m looking forward to developing my wing attack and goal attack game with him.

“We are an extremely competitive team, who love to take on a challenge and I know we are even more determined heading into the 2022 season.”
