Inside the goal circle, Mary Cholhok once again dominated with her strength and clever movement well and truly coming to the fore paired with her accuracy to post. Her ability to re-position and score with ease was once again evident posting a combined 75 goals – 40 in her first and 35 in the second- to showcase her firepower. Wasps goal attack, Katie Harris was in scintillating form in both outings nailing 46 goals across the two games only missing seven of her attempts. Her accuracy to post did all the talking as did her movement out the front with the goal attack lighting up the court and weaving her magic under the post to pile on the pressure.

Winning player of the match honours in Lightnings thumping win against Surrey Storm it was hard to go past the services of Hannah Joseph. The dynamic wing attack has a wealth of netball nous which she displayed throughout both games to work the ball to circle edge and create multiple attacking forays. Through the midcourt Iona Christian was crucial using her speed, vision and netball nous to continuously deliver the ball on a silver platter to her teammates. She was never far from the action and spurred the Wasps on throughout both matches picking up deflections and goal assists with relative ease. Beth Cobden is becoming somewhat of a familiar name amongst Draft Central’s Team of the Week with the highly talented midcourter able to put in the hard yards in defence or transition the ball into attack. Boasting speed and athleticism, Cobden once again impressed especially against Pulse amassing six intercepts and seven deflections making her an easy selection.

Team Bath’s Layla Guscoth continues to get better each time she steps out on court, plying her defensive trade and causing a ruckus down back with her ball winning capabilities. Able to niggle at players and pester them with pressure Guscoth was a key reason for her sides dominance producing seven intercepts and three deflections in her two games. Goal keeper for Strathclyde Sirens, Towera Vinkhumbo took the competition by storm with a strong showing across both games. Her tenacity and defensive pressure down back was unquestionable, contesting every pass that came her way and racking up the goods with a combined 10 intercepts.

Unlucky not to get the nod in the starting goal shooter position, Kim Borger was a rock under the post for Team Bath. Her accuracy paired with her silky movement and strong holds, Borger proved incredibly difficult to stop for opposition sides. Joining her on the bench is teammate and defensive stalwart Eboni Usoro-Brown with the goal keeper a strong body down back and able to continuously get hands to ball and create turnover opportunities. The final bench position goes to Wasps captain, Sophia Candappa who was electric with ball in hand. Her drives in the attacking third opened up the court and made her a force to be reckoned with guiding her side to two wins.
