TEAM Bath remain undefeated after seven rounds of the Vitality Netball Superleague (VNSL) with a number of their players as a result making their way into Draft Central’s Team of the Week. Strong performances from the Wasps, Strathclyde Sirens and Manchester Thunder also saw representatives from the two sides make their way into the squad. While, Loughborough Lightning did not have anyone in the side as they did not take to the court in Round 7.

It was a dominant shooting display from Manchester Thunder goal shooter, Joyce Mvula who took things into her own hands under the post and single-handedly guided her side to victory. Posting an impressive 47 goals at 94 per cent accuracy, Mvula was an unmovable rock that dug deep to use her athleticism and smarts to out manoeuvre her opponents and score freely. Joining her inside the goal circle is Team Bath goal attack Sophie Drakeford-Lewis who continued her hot run of form both inside the goal circle and out the front. Her smooth movement, strong hands and quick footwork enabled her to dictate the flow in both games while her accuracy hardly wavered only missing a combined three goals to post 24 and 18 respectively.

Laura Malcolm was a force to be reckoned with in attack for the Thunder using her cuts and drives to open up space and provide multiple attacking forays for her side. the zippy wing attack hit circle edge with great precision and timing while her defensive efforts also came to the fore s shown through her one intercept and four deflections. Through the midcourt Serena Guthrie was a machine for Bath plying her trade at both ends of the court. With her gut running a focal point it was hard to go past including Guthrie in the team as the highly athletic centre had the ball on a string and amassed five intercepts across her two games. Out in wing defence is Amy Flanagan with the tenacious midcourter throwing her weight around for the Wasps and putting in the hard yards to stop the opposition in their tracks. with her quick thinking and shadowing style of defence, Flanagan was a real workhorse, managing two intercepts and deflections.

In at goal defence is Strathclyde Sirens representative Emily Nicholl who had a game to remember against the Wasps. Her overall presence on court and ability to jump into action made all the difference for the Sirens reading the play with relative ease to collect one intercept, three deflections and only produce three turnovers showcasing just how clean she was down back. The goal keeper position goes to Razia Quashie with the Saracens Mavericks defender impressing with her ability to read the play and swat away high looping passes. She is clinical in the air and while she only racked up two deflections and three rebounds it was her overall effort to keep her opponent away from the ball that made her shine.

On the bench, Fran Williams was unlucky not to get the nod after impressing in her 50th game notching up two rebounds, three intercepts and five deflections. Joining her is goal attack Rhea Dixon who impressed for Leeds Rhinos in their sole outing with 13 goals and three intercepts. The final spot goes to defensive midcourter Imogen Allison with the Team Bath representative plying her trade out the front and continuously getting hands to ball with her tenacity and read of the play coming to the fore.
