2023 ANZ Premiership | Round 3 preview: Still so much left to answer

AS fast as Kimiora Poi speeding through midcourt, the 2023 ANZ Premiership season might be quicker, as it is already one quarter of the way through the year.

After an entertaining first fortnight of the season, the picture of where teams are sitting is starting to take shape. Following a weekend with one extra game on the menu last weekend, it is back to a regular catalogue of three games this weekend, and three very potentially interesting games it is.

The weekend starts with the Grand Final rematch between the Stars and the Pulse.

The Stars started the season with a shock loss, but last weekend rectified it with two solid wins. They come up against an undefeated Pulse side who actually sit behind the Stars on the ladder at the moment on goal difference so will be looking to lift that this weekend. It should be a fascinating battle between two of the competition’s top sides.

The second game on tomorrow’s schedule is between the Magic and the Mystics. These two have had very different starts to the season but who will continue that in Hamilton this weekend?

The third game between the Steel and the Tactix is also an interesting one but for very different reasons. It could be the start of the world really seeing where the Tactix are at this season. They had a really good win in round one, but struggled to run out the game last weekend, so which game showed the true Tactix side?

They come up against a Steel side who still remain winless this season and will be hungry to stop this losing run they are currently on. Can they get the win or will the fall even further behind the pack?
