2023 NSL | Round 10 preview: NSL reaches halfway point

IT is officially the halfway mark of the 2023 Netball Super League season this weekend, and so much has happened so far this season, and yet there is still so much to play out.

As things stand at the moment, only three points separate first and third on the ladder, and its only three points back to fourth placed Loughborough. It is that tight at the top of the table. To add to this, not everyone has played the same number of games, so once everyone evens out their number of games, perhaps the ladder will get even closer.

As things currently sit, top placed Surrey Storm have played 10 games, fifth placed Severn Stars have played nine games, last played Leeds Rhinos have played seven, while everyone else had played eight games.

Luckily for the Rhinos, they have a prime opportunity to catch up on the number of games they have played and hopefully for them finally get a win on the board this season. They have gotten so close several weeks in a row, so they will be itching to finally break through for that elusive win. They play both the Dragons and Bath this week, and will realistically be eyeing off both as potential wins.

With Leeds playing twice that means someone gets the weekend off, and conveniently for the teams with a game in hand, that is the Storm.

In this weekend’s other clashes, the Sirens will look to build on last week’s nail-biter and try to take it up to the Thunder, the Stars will look to bounce back in a big way when they take on the Lightning while in the London Derby the Mavericks and Pulse will battle it out to close out the weekend.
