NEW Zealand have revealed their Silver Ferns’ senior and development squads for 2024/25, with a few new faces featuring in the squads.
The senior squad has 16 names in it with two spots still open, while the development squad has 10 players in it.
There are two new faces in the senior squad that have been rewarded after strong ANZ Premiership seasons – Magic defender Claire O’Brien and Pulse defender Parris Mason. Meanwhile, Kimiora Poi and Erena Mikaere have both been recalled to the senior squad.
Meanwhile there are four new faces in the development squad – Saviour Tui, Martina Salmon, Georgie Edgecombe and Catherine Hall.
From this squad a smaller team will be announced later today for next month’s Taini Jamison Trophy series against England.
“The quality and intensity of trials was fierce from the start to the end,” coach Dame Noeline Taurua said. “I was very pleased with everyone and what they contributed on and off the court.”
“After three intense days you can usually see those who are physically capable of repeated efforts, people who can do their own job one on one, work with others in a unit, and have that mental fortitude to stay in the fight. I always talk about consistency. If players are consistent in their craft and brand of netball, then we always see their uniqueness shine through.”
