England release squads for January series’
ENGLAND Netball have released the Roses Squad for their upcoming series against Jamaica in January.
Starting on January 11, the Roses and Sunshine Girls will battle in a three match series.
The teams last met in 2021 where the Roses won the series for the first time since 2013.
Among the inclusions in the Roses squad is new Leeds Rhino Elle McDonald, who has been called up for her first international series after she was a part of the FAST5 World Series last month.
The Roses are not the only ones set to take the court next month.
The England A side and Future Roses squads are both set to take the court in some curtain raisers to the Roses tests.
England A will play Scotland on January 11, while the Future Roses will be facing off against the England men’s side the Thorns on January 14 and 15.
England A will also play Wales and Jamaica behind closed doors on January 8 and 9.
Roses Head Coach Jess Thirlby expressed her excitement ahead of the team’s upcoming games.
“As we move closer to the Netball World Cup, this series against Jamaica gives us the opportunity to continue testing our combinations, build on what we’re doing well and implement some of the learnings from a robust autumn series against both Uganda and Australia, having been back in camp through November,” she said.
