Fresh faced Diamonds set for Rosey challenge

THE international netball season continues to come together with Australia announcing its first squad of the series, which will take on England in a three match series.

There are a number of new faces in this squad.

Rudi Ellis has had a big few months, elevated from Diamonds invitee into the squad, and could make her Diamonds debut. She is not the only potential Diamonds debutant this series, with Ash Ervin and Georgie Horjus also in the squad.

Amy Parmenter has also been named in this squad, and will be looking to make her mark at international level after inconsistent opportunities over recent years.

Courtney Bruce and Jo Weston were ruled out of the England series due to injury, but are expected to be in the mix for selection for the Constellation Cup.

On the squad announcement, Diamonds head coach Stacey Marinkovich said “We are really excited to bring the squad together in Canberra as we begin to combine and connect new combinations in preparation for the England Series.”

“We will continue to explore our depth and versatility across the court and work to transfer this to the international arena.

“This is the beginning of a new four-year performance cycle leading into the 2027 Netball World Cup in Sydney so we will be methodical in our build and development of our group.

“It is always a tough battle against the England Roses and we can’t wait to play in front of our incredible Origin Australian Diamonds fans in Adelaide, Sydney and Bendigo.”

The Diamonds and Roses will first meet in Adelaide, before heading to Sydney and then Bendigo to wrap up the series.
