A player who has now spent a few years with the Vixens as a training partner, the speedy defender certainly has the capacity to step up to Super Netball standards with her level-headed take on the defensive circle and ability to turn a game with a well-timed intercept. Learning off some impressive names in Jo Weston and Emily Mannix over the past few years, Newton has developed well with her ability to transition between attacking the ball and hands, able to play both a one-on-one approach or zone her attacker away from the play. A consistent performer at Australian Netball League level, expect Newton to put on the bib and perform well where required.
