THE 2025 Netball Super League season is a mere fortnight away, and in the lead up to the competition Rookie Me Central will be previewing each of the teams and taking a look at how they might go in this new era of English netball.
In this preview it is time to take a look at last year’s runner’s up, the London Pulse.
London Pulse 2025 Netball Super League Squad
Olivia Tchine
Nichole Breedt
Alicia Scholes
Zara Everitt
Darcie Everitt
Funmi Fadoju
Halimat Adio
Tyler Orr
Gracie Smith
Sophie Kelly
It was a case of so agonisingly close, yet so agonisingly far for the Pulse, making it all the way to the Grand Final but then ultimately losing out to the Loughborough Lightning.
Luckily for the Pulse, for the most part they escaped the huge list turnover that often comes with the end of a Super League, and as such should be a contender again this season because they have most of their first choice side from last year.
However, the shooting end will be an interesting one to watch.
Olivia Tchine and Berri Neil were an inseparable partnership last season, but with Neil on her way to the Lightning this season, the question will be who partners Tchine in the shooting circle. Sophie Kelly plays more similarly to Neil than Nichole Breedt does, but Breedt is the international star.
The midcourt is largely the same as it was in 2024, with Alicia Scholes, Zara Everitt and Darcie Everitt all returning from last season. They are joined this year by Aussie Tyler Orr, who certainly knows what it takes to go all the way after being the 11th player in the 2024 title winning Adelaide Thunderbirds side. It will be interesting to see if Orr is able to break into the starting side with all those very experienced players also in the side.
Moving through to defence, and this should not change too much from last season with first choice defensive combination Funmi Fadoju and Halimat Adio both back in pink this season. They are set to be joined by teenager Gracie Smith, who has come across from the Mavericks.
