THIS week officially marks the halfway point of the 2024 VNL season, with teams starting to look to the end and improving their situations on the ladder.

The first match tonight is the North East Blaze taking on the Bendigo Strikers.

This match could be one of the most intriguing of the entire round because the Blaze are on a form slump at the moment while the Strikers won only a fortnight ago.

However last time these two sides met it was the Blaze who emerged victorious, but the margin was only two goals.

Another match that could be intriguing tonight is the one between the Western Warriors and the Casey Demons.

Last time these two sides met the Warriors won by 10 goals, but Casey come into this week’s match with an added boost of confidence after they defeated the Blaze last week.

Match three of the evening sees the Southern Saints take on the Geelong Cougars.

Last time these two sides met it was a 12-goal win to the Cougars, and history points to a similar situation repeating itself tonight.

The Cougars flexed their muscles last week while the Saints lost, so the teams will be coming into tonight’s clash with very different levels of momentum.

The other clash that could be a repeat of last time is the one between Melbourne Uni and the Peninsula Waves.

Melbourne Uni won by a big margin last time these two sides met, and are coming into tonight’s clash with a massive boost of confidence after last week’s win. Peninsula meanwhile have not come close to winning all season

The last match of the night is the Hawks taking on the Boroondara Express.

Unlike the other match ups this season these two have not played yet in 2024. They are also both coming off very different results last week, and this match looks very different to what it did a week ago.

This week it is the City West Falcons who get the bye, who get a well timed rest after another strong first half of the season.
