Suncorp Super Netball 2020 Team Lists
WEST Coast Fever and GIANTS Netball are the first Suncorp Super Netball (SSN) sides to secure their 2020 team lists after re-signing their only uncontracted players in goaler, Kaylia Stanton (Fever) and the GIANTS’ quartet of Sam Poolman, Kristiana Manu’a, Amy Parmenter and Matilda McDonnell. On the other end of the scale, Melbourne Vixens have a remarkable five potential re-signings or signings to complete, with just the defensive circle of Emily Mannix and Jo Weston, and midcourt pairing of Kate Moloney and Liz Watson locked in for next season.
The ability to lock in a defensive pairing has been a priority for clubs, with all eight SSN clubs securing their defensive circle for next year. The reigning premiers, NSW Swifts are relatively settled, with just Kate Eddy yet to sign from the starting line-up, while their grand final opponents, Sunshine Coast Lightning just have captain Laura Langman as the only starter yet to put pen to paper.
The Firebirds will likely look for a midcourt player over the off-season with a couple of retirements meaning they currently have just five players signed and a further two – Jemma Mi Mi and Tippah Dwan – uncontracted. The Swifts have a spare spot for the injured Maddy Proud, while the Magpies have one available for April Brandley‘s departure due to pregnancy, and the Vixens will look to replace Renae Ingles who retired.
Monday, September 16 marked the first day that SSN clubs could complete and announce signings from other clubs as per Suncorp Super Netball regulations, which we will update as they come to light.
