2020 ATP Libema Open fantasy tennis preview: Swiss Master leads way on grass

THE first fantasy grass tournament of the season is upon us, with the 2020 ATP Libema Open fantasy tennis tournament underway which saw players raring to go following a long clay season.

FAVOURITE

Roger Federer (SUI)

The Swiss Master may be a veteran of the game but he brings it every single time, not less in s-Hertogenbosch where he has not yet won the tournament which could see it finally be his year. With the highest grass ranking by far and that explosive speed and hard-hitting flair, Federer will be the one to watch and while he has not had the most successful year can never be underestimated.

CONTENDERS

Stefanos Tsitsipas (GRE)

While he may be young, Tsitsipas is no easybeat and is sure to ply his trade here and put in the hard yards on his preferred surface. With consistency, versatility and an ability to turn a match on its head, Tsitsipas has the ability to burst out of the blocks or play the endurance game, using his impressive forehand to his advantage no matter the opponent.

Andy Murray (GBR)

Another champion of the game, Murray has also not won at s-Hertogenbosch but who’s to say that he cannot do it now after coming out of retirement. With plenty of versatility and a couple of grass titles to his name, Murray has proved threatening as ever moving up the rankings over the past few months so expect some solid performances from him here especially coming in as the sixth seed.

Adrian Mannarino (FRA)

The reigning s-Hertogenbosch champion, Mannarino comes in with the winning experience under his belt and a desire to back up his maiden title with another impressive performance. While Mannarino has for the most part flown under the radar this year, he certainly has the determination to get the job done, but it will be more about the plethora of talent joining the fray this year.

ROUGHIE

David Goffin (BEL)

Belgian third seed Goffin may not have much grass court success to his name, but he is not lacking in winning experience or talent with the third seed more than worthy of a title. While he has had an interrupted couple of years with injury, Goffin has plenty to bring to the tournament and is a potential to go for title thanks to his constant pressing play and hard hitting.

DARK HORSE

Daniel Evans (GBR)

While Evans may be seeded eighth here, the world number 30 is yet to win a tournament on the tour and given the calibre of players taking the court at s-Hertogenbosch this year he will have a hard time against many of them. That being said, the 30-year-old does have plenty of experience and has been on a steady rise this year, meaning he could very well be in with a chance for his first title.
