2024 ITF World Junior Tennis Finals teams announced
FUTURE tennis stars will head to Prostejov in the Czech Republic in early August as the 2024 ITF World Junior Tennis Finals get underway. A total of 32 teams from 25 nations will compete in the 14-and-under boys and girls categories from August 5-10.
The ITF World Junior Tennis Finals is the first major event for budding ATP and WTA Tour stars on their pathway to senior tournaments. The team event is also the step prior to playing in the Junior Billie Jean King Cup and Davis Cup, which are 16-and-under events.
The likes of Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Alex de Minaur, Iga Swiatek, Ash Barty and Coco Gauff have all previously played at the event. Czech Republic is not only the host nation, but also the reigning champions in both the boys and girls events.
The structure of the event sees the 16 teams divided into four round robin groups. From there, the four teams in each group face off against each other and the top two nations in each group advance through to the knockout stage of the tournament to eventually decide the winners.
