Age: 27

The only registered Cambodian player in either the ATP or WTA Tours is Andrea Ka, ranked just inside the top 1000 female players and just does the European ITF Tour each year. She has not competed since July last year in Portugal, but a strange fact is that she is flying so far under the radar, that the WTA Tennis website has her representing a different country. With Cambodia and Cameroon right next to each other on the rankings, it is an easy mistake to make, though the proud nation is thrilled with their only tennis star’s achievements to-date. Aged 27 and having won $26,113 USD prize money in her career, she has played a total of 110 singles matches.
Ka has managed to maintain a winning record in her career, with a 60-50 split and rising to a career-high 466th back in September, 2018. Ka has actually won a couple of ITF10K tournaments both on hard court, one in Portugal and one in Thailand. They both came in 2016, and both involved coming from a set down to win. Over the journey, the Cambodian has also had success in the doubles format, winning five titles and coming runner-up on four occasions.

Summary:
The little-known Cambodian might not be a top 100 player, but it is fascinating to see her movements across her career, competing all across Europe and previously, Asia where she has had a busy schedule between singles and doubles. Having found success at the lower tiers of the ITF Tour, Ka has been able to play for the love of the game and being able to represent Cambodia on the international tennis scene.
