OPEN SUD DE FRANCE:

World number three Alexander Zverev got off to a winning start since losing at the Australian Open, defeating American Mackenzie McDonald in Montpeller. The match went to a tight second set tiebreaker but the German proved too good, winning 6-2 7-6. Elsewhere it was chaos for the seeds, with fourth seed Georgian Nikoloz Basilashvili and eighth seed David Goffin both knocked out of the tournament. Qualifier Damir Dzumhur advance through to the last eight alongside French duo Adrian Mannarino and Richard Gasquet.

CORDOBA OPEN:

Cordoba, Argentina | ATP 250 | Clay

In Argentina, Sebastian Baez caused a big upset, coming from behind to defeat third seed and clay court specialist Cristian Garin in a come from behind win. Baez, who showed promising signs at Melbourne Park, only dropped two games in the last three sets. Meanwhile the other two seeds in fourth seed Lorenzo Sonego and sixth seed Albert Ramos-Vinolas both secured wins, whilst Chilean qualifier Alejandro Tabilo knocked off Spaniard Carlos Taberner.

TATA OPEN MAHARASHTRA:

Pune, India | ATP 250 | Clay

Over in Pune, the biggest upset of the day on the ATP Tour occurred, with Swedish qualifier Elias Ymer knocking out top seed Aslan Karatsev. The world number 163 was on his game, and though he is yet to crack into the Top 010 at any stage in his career, the 25-year-old got the win, 6-2 7-6. The other three seeds out on court all secured wins, with Jiri Vesely, Emil Ruusuvuori and Stefano Travaglia advancing through to the quarter finals.

WTA TOUR
