ATP TOUR

OPEN SUD DE FRANCE:

Montpellier, France | ATP 250 | Hard

The sole hard court even completed qualifying overnight, with the two Round of 32 matches wrapped up later in the day. Both seeds advanced through to the second round, with David Goffin coming back from a set deficit to post a three-set victory over Frenchman Benjamin Bonzi, whilst Kazakhstan hopeful Alexander Bublik fought past two tiebreak sets to win over Tallon Griekspoor.

CORDOBA OPEN:

Cordoba, Argentina | ATP 250 | Clay

A fairly impressive clay court tournament saw the one seed play the opening match, with Spaniard Pedro Martinez overcoming Brazillian Thiago Monteiro in a come-from-behind win, 4-6 6-4 7-6. At the time of publishing, Argentinian Facundo Bagnis and Peruvian qualifier Juan Pablo Varillas were locked at a set each, whilst seventh seed Benoit Paire was preparing to play Spaniard Jaume Munar later in the day

TATA OPEN MAHARASHTRA:

Pune, India | ATP 250 | Clay

The first of the three tournaments to be completed from a time difference perspective to Australia, the headline of the Tata Open was former world number 82, Yuki Bhambri reaching the second round. Following an epic 12-10 first tiebreaker loss, the local 29-year-old defeated Slovakia’s Jozef Kovalik to reach the Round of 16. It was not as promising for Bhambri’s compatriot Prajnesh Gunneswaran, who was knocked off by German fifth seed Daniel Altmaier in straight sets, whilst Frenchman Quetin Halys and Romanian Radu Albot both advanced in their first round matches.

WTA TOUR
