January Davis Cup Squads released
SOME of the biggest names in World Men’s tennis are set to pull on national colours later this month as the squads for this month’s ties were announced overnight.
All teams in the top group have been announced except for Israel and Germany, who have both been given more time to pick their players as the venue and surface type for their tie is still to be confirmed.
Serbia’s biggest name Novak Djokovic is among the big faces named for their countries, with the 24 time Grand Slam Champion and his Serbian team mates set to take on world number 13 Holger Rune and the Danes in Copenhagen.
Australia, who made the semi finals in last year’s tournament, welcome back Nick Kyrgios to its squad for the first time since 2019. He joins Alex de Minaur, Jordan Thompson and Thanasi Kokkinakis in Lleyton Hewitt’s team.
Norway also has a big name in its line up for its tie with Argentina, with world number six Casper Ruud named in the squad. He has been named alongside Nicolai Budkov Kjaer, who finished 2024 as the world number one in the juniors.
