Known globally for his incredible 'Showtime' kick on Benson Henderson, Anthony Pettis is a martial artist with a knack for the spectacular. Fittingly fighting under the same 'Showtime' moniker, Pettis has made a name for himself with eye-catching finishes on the feet, but is just as capable on the mat with seven career submission wins and a BJJ black belt. Deemed a phenom upon entering the UFC as the undisputed WEC lightweight champion, the Milwaukee native had to overcome injury and a loss in his UFC debut to claim the title against a familiar foe at UFC 164. But 'Showtime' has since ventured across three weight classes in search of his former self, unable to string together consecutive wins since losing his 155lbs strap in 2015. Pettis has shown glimpses though, most notably with a vicious Superman punch KO over Stephen Thompson at welterweight months going to war with Tony Ferguson, but was most recently soundly beaten by Nate Diaz via decision. Still one who attracts eyes to the sport, Pettis' immediate future is back at lightweight with plenty of time to make another title run.
