Next fight: Not booked

Colby 'Chaos' Covington is one of the more divisive fighters across the promotion and while his past actions are somewhat questionable, his talent is not. The NCAA Division I collegiate wrestler has seamlessly transferred his skills to the MMA realm, smothering almost each opponent thrown his way with his pressure style and endless cardio. A brief run of success was halted at the hands of Warlley Alves after entering the UFC at 5-0 as a respectful and reserved prospect, but Covington took no prisoners in his seven-fight win streak to put his name in lights. His sixth win, over Rafael dos Anjos was for the interim welterweight title, which 'Chaos' claimed in style, but an undisputed title shot evaded him for 18 months. After another dominant decision win, this time over Robbie Lawler, Covington finally earned the chance to face Kamaru Usman for the belt, but was ultimately finished in an instant classic. While a future opponent is yet to be booked, the American has plenty of candidates to choose from; namely Tyron Woodley, Jorge Masvidal, and Leon Edwards.
