Arguably the greatest active fighter – confirmed by his #1 pound-for-pound ranking - Jon ‘Bones’ Jones’ in-competition reputation is incredible, but has been somewhat tainted by out-of-competition controversy. Despite coming from a college wrestling background, Jones is a true mixed martial artist who loves delving into the deep waters of his opponents’ strengths on the back of his well-rounded skillset. He became the youngest ever UFC Champion after entering the promotion at 6-0, and was 13-1 upon winning the belt from the legendary Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua at UFC 128 in 2011. His only loss to this point came via disqualification for illegal 12-6 elbows against Matt Hamill in a bout he dominated, while his one no-contest was originally a KO victory over nemesis Daniel Cormier but overturned after Jones tested positive for turinabol traces. Having reclaimed the belt he never lost and beaten some of the most revered fighters of every generation, Jones looks to be now focussing on fighting regularly and cleaning out the Light Heavyweight division. A super fight with Middleweight champion Israel Adesayna is also a possibility come 2021, with worthy contenders running thin at 205lbs. Holder of the most UFC Light Heavyweight wins and stoppages, Jones is an all-time great.
