When it comes to players who have made swift improvements over the past few years, one cannot surpass Sigi Burger who has developed in leaps and bounds since making her debut for South Africa in 2016. Typically found in the goal shooter position, there is no doubt Burger has proved her worth over the past few seasons in the Vitality Netball Superleague, first with Surrey Storm (2018-19) before plying her trade for London Pulse in 2020 prior to the season's cancellation. A fan favourite, Burger is an accurate goaler with plenty of accuracy and goal sense, able to use her excellent positioning to full effect and continuously provide a threat out the front. While not the most versatile player, Burger is as reliable as they come under the post. Burger's height may be one of her key attributes, but she does not rely on it, instead using her frame and footwork to find the ball with ease at the post and evade her defenders. Her clean hands are crucial, while her vertical leap sees the South African utilise her long arms to consistently haul in the loose ball. Expect Burger to go one better this year, driven by a season on the sidelines, and continue her development as one of the key players for the Pulse side.
