Stat Leaders: NAB League Girls Round 8 – Usual suspects continue to ply their trade

NAB League Girls Round 8 saw the Northern Territory U18 Girls Academy join the fray for the first time as some of the usual suspects wreaked havoc. With blowout matches and tight encounters alike, the round boasted plenty of interesting moments. We take a look at this week’s stat leaders.

Players tied in two categories across the round, while a couple made their way onto the list yet again as Charlotte Baskaran was the only player this week to top more than one category. She tied Lilli Condon for kicks this week as the pair piled on 20 kicks in their respective matches, whilst also topping the inside 50 count with seven. Georgie Prespakis and Maeve Chaplin share the mantle for disposals with 26 apiece, while Chaplin’s teammate in Ava Jordan registered 22 handballs from her 25 touches.

Elsewhere, Oakleigh’s Charlie Rowbottom (16 tackles) and and GWV’s Molly Walton (11 rebounds) piled on the pressure, utilising their timing and vision to open up opportunities for their teammates. Geelong’s Annie Lee (eight marks) and Jets’ Krystal Russell (29 hitouts) supplied their respective sides with plenty of clean footy, as Eastern Ranges’ Georgia Wilson topped the goalkicking tally for the round with four on the board. She narrowly leads teammate Alyssia Pisano, Amy Bissett (Tasmania) and Georgia Malkoun (Dandenong) who all finished with three.
