Stat Leaders: 2022 AFL Women’s – Round 10

PROLIFIC North Melbourne midfielder Ash Riddell comprehensively broke the AFL Women’s disposal record in Round 10, helping her top the charts yet again. Plenty more players produced big numbers across the latest weekend of AFLW action, find out who as we take a look at this week’s stat leaders.

Riddell’s 42 disposals set a new benchmark in the competition, beating the previous record (35) she held alongside Adelaide’s Ebony Marinoff and Anne Hatchard. The Kangaroos ball magnet not only topped the disposal charts this week, but split her touches equally in kicks and handballs to lead those categories too. Melbourne’s Lily Mithen also racked up 21 kicks to join the party.

North Melbourne was also prominent in other areas, with star midfielder Jasmine Garner notching an unbeaten 10 marks as the Roos downed West Coast. In attack, Greater Western Sydney veteran Cora Staunton was also unmatched in Round 10 as she booted four goals in the Giants’ win over Geelong, finishing the season with an equal-second haul of 18.

At the contest, it was a case of death, taxes and Kiara Bowers leading the tackle count. The Fremantle bull laid a whopping 17 in her side’s confidence boosting win over Gold Coast – her highest haul of the season. Brisbane’s Emily Bates was also strong around the ball with 12 clearances, while GWS ruck Erin McKinnon earned 47 hitouts to dominate the airways.
