The Sun shines on Alberton as a Bulldog makes a Giant move

THE sixth day of the 2022 AFLW Trade and Re-Signing Period was a sunny one for Port, as they continued to add to their inaugural list ahead of their inaugural season later this year.

Although there has been much talk of this trade for several days, but finally Kate Surman, Jacqui Yorston, Brittany Perry and Cheyenne Hammond are all Power players after the trade was finalised yesterday.

In return, the Suns got picks 34 and 81.

Surman tried to head to Port during the expansion signing period, but because Gold Coast had already lost the maximum number of players they could during the expansion period she had to be traded.

Perry and Hammond are both originally from South Australia, and so were keen to return home.

The 2022 Trade Period wraps up later today, with so many potential trades yet to be finalised.

The quartet of Suns were not the only ones to find new homes on day six.

The much talked about trade of Isabel Huntington to GWS was finally finalised yesterday, with the Bulldogs getting picks 29 and 37 in return.

Millie Brown was also on the move yesterday, as she and pick 21 were on their way to the Bulldogs, with picks 24 and 56 heading the other way back down to the Cattery.

As Brown was heading out the door, Eagle Mikayla Bowen was on her way to the Cattery, with the Eagles getting the pick 24 that Geelong had just received from the Bulldogs back in exchange.

There was also a pick only trade between the Hawks, Dees and Tigers, with Hawthorn gaining pick with Hawthorn gaining picks 51 and 52, the Dees gaining picks 45 and 80 and the Tigers picks 59 and 62.
