2022 AFLW Season 7 Fixture stats

THERE are always plenty of quirks with any kind of sporting fixture, and the 2022 AFL Women’s Season 7 fixture is no different. We took a deep dive into next season’s fixtures to check out where each club played, what days, and which venues are the most popular.

KEY FACTS:

  • Sydney is the only team that will play a “home” game interstate, taking on Hawthorn at Punt Road in Round 5 with of course the exception of North Melbourne in Tasmania. The Swans also have the least games in their home state (four)
  • Richmond has more games in its home state than any other side (nine)
  • Reigning grand finalists Melbourne play just one Saturday game, the least of any side, but have the equal most Sunday games with Essendon and GWS GIANTS (six)
  • Reigning premiers Adelaide play the most Friday night games (four)
  • Fremantle and Gold Coast only make one trip to Victoria, two less than any other side, with Sydney (five) the most of the non-Victorian clubs
  • The Swans and Suns play the equal most Saturday games with six apiece
  • GWS GIANTS are the only side to not play on a Friday night in Season 7
  • Ikon Park (nine games) and Swinburne Centre Punt Road (six) are the most used venues in Season 7, while Fremantle Oval, Henson Park and Metricon Stadium (all five) are the most visited venues outside Victoria.
