WAFLW 23 Under 23 to Watch in 2023

IN an upcoming series, Rookie Me Central will be ramping up its Western Australia Football League (WAFL) Women’s coverage ahead of the opening round in early March. The list will feature a host of players both draft-eligible and non draft-eligible, but will aim to raise awareness of just some of the talented players in the competition.

With both an Overage and AFLW Draft coming this year, there are more chances than ever for players to step up to the elite level. In the 23 Under 23 to Watch in 2023 series, we countdown 23 players to keep an eye on throughout the 2023 WAFLW Women’s season. All seven previously established clubs have representatives in our countdown, and we narrowed the filters to the following:

  • Born 01/01/2000 or after (ie. are Under 23 at the start of the year)
  • Are not currently on, or have previously been on an AFL Women’s list
  • Must have played at least one WAFL Women’s game, therefore will only include those born 2006 or before
  • Have not included players who are known to be injured for the season

The countdown starts this Wednesday, January 24, and will reveal one name each day up until Friday, February 24 where our top under 23 player will be named. Following the countdown, Rookie Me Central will preview each of the eight teams ahead of season 2023, then preparing for a massive Round 1 kickoff with daily content throughout the season.

Keep an eye out from Wednesday, when the first of the 23 names are revealed as we name just a few of the talented young guns in the WAFL Women’s competition.
