THE AFL has today revealed the 55 players set to participate in this year’s various state draft combines. Players will be put through their paces in Melbourne (October 8), Adelaide (October 14), and Perth (October 15) with an array of fitness tests, medical screenings, and interviews.

It comes after 61 players were nominated by AFL clubs for the National Combine, set to take place in Melbourne from October 6-8. A total of 20 players had enough nominations to make up shortlist of state combine invitees, with a further 35 added upon consultation with clubs.

In terms of the makeup of the list, 47 players are in the top-age category (2005-born), with just five in the over-age (2004-born) group, and three deemed as mature-agers – all from the VFL. Victoria boasts 56 of the total nominations, while 20 come from Western Australia, and 15 from South Australia.
As per the schedule below, athletes from NSW, ACT, Queensland and Tasmania will compete in the Victorian state combine, while prospects from the Northern Territory will be added to the South Australian event.
