Richmond (2.0.12) lost to Adelaide (6.5.41)

  • After a fairly even beginning to the clash, Adelaide showed its class to ultimate run away with the win.
  • Monique Conti starred for the Tigers, but was a one woman show at times as Adelaide’s run and handball game got going and the Tigers could not keep up.

Gold Coast (15.9.99) defeated West Coast (4.2.26)

  • Gold Coast responded to last week’s loss in emphatic fashion, thrashing the Eagles by 73 points.
  • The Suns were on from the get go, having scored their highest ever score by half time while keeping West Coast goalless in the first half.

Port Adelaide (4.2.26) lost to Brisbane (11.10.76)

  • Brisbane bounced back from last week’s shock loss by comfortably defeating Port Adelaide.
  • Dakota Davidson and Ally Anderson both dominated for the Lions as the dominated the Power.

Sydney (5.11.41) lost to Geelong (10.8.68)

  • Geelong made it two from two with an impressive win over Sydney
  • The Cats made their intent clear from the start, scoring five goals straight to four behinds in the opening term to set up the win.

Western Bulldogs (5.9.39) lost to Hawthorn (6.10.46)

  • Hawthorn bounced back from last week’s loss with a confidence boosting win over the Bulldogs.
  • In a game of swinging momentums, Hawthorn ultimately fought from behind to open its 2023 account.

Collingwood (7.4.46) defeated Fremantle (3.7.25)

  • Collingwood bounced back from last week’s poor performance in a big win, easily accounting for Fremantle.
  • Despite having 10 less inside 50s than the Dockers, Collingwood kicked seven goals to one in the first three quarters to take the win.

North Melbourne (10.6.66) defeated Carlton (1.0.6)

  • North Melbourne became the second side to remain undefeated in 2023 with a comprehensive win over Carlton.
  • Jasmine Garner again starred as North Melbourne kept Carlton scoreless for three quarters to continue to show their premiership credentials.

Essendon (6.4.40) defeated St Kilda (4.4.28)

  • Essendon made it two from two with a win over St Kilda.
  • St Kilda fought hard for much of the day, but a fast start from the Bombers was what ultimately got them over the line.

GWS (3.4.22) lost to Melbourne (15.9.99)

  • Melbourne joined four other sides to remain undefeated after they easily accounted for GWS by 77 points.
  • Captain Kate Hore played a captain’s game for the Dees, booting five majors to help guide her side comfortably over the line.
