TOP PROSPECTS

A list of 24 players underwent medical tests ahead of Wednesday’s intake. Generally, those included are considered leading candidates to be picked up given nominations are submitted directly by AFL clubs. Among the prospects are over-age players who were overlooked in last year’s National Draft, as well as mature-age state leaguers and a bunch of former AFL-listed players.

Tasmania Devils over-ager Geordie Payne is considered the best chance to be taken by North Melbourne with pick one. The utility has transformed from a rebound defender to a tough, quick and versatile midfielder-forward in 2024. He garnered attention late last year only to be overlooked, but clearly remained on the radar of recruiters and is well placed to earn his chance.
