The Eagles thumped Norwood by 85 points to move to 5-5, and within striking distance of North Adelaide in fourth. Having been kept goalless during the second and third quarters, the Redlegs could do nothing to resist Woodville-West Torrens’ onslaught in the 16.12 (108) to 3.5 (23) result.

Tyler Welsh produced a breakout performance, proving unstoppable with eight goals from 10 marks. Zac Schwarz bagged four, while bottom-ager Jevan Phillipou added two to a stats sheet which read 29 disposals and 14 marks. Kade Herbert (23 disposals, 10 tackles) was also prominent.

Along with the Eagles, South Adelaide was served by four state squad members in a 72-point win over North Adelaide. The Panthers compounded a handy half time lead with 10 goals to three after the main break to upset the higher-ranked Roosters, 17.14 (116) to 6.8 (44).

State captain Sid Draper led all comers with 31 disposals, as partner-in-crime Phoenix Hargrave helped himself to four goals and 13 marks. Fellow representative squad members Benny Barrett (two goals) and Dakota Sterzl (one) joined Hargrave on the score sheet in their side’s big win.

With both teams undermanned, Glenelg strengthened its hold on top spot with a 55-point trouncing of Central District. The Bays booted 10 of their 16 majors at one end of X Convenience Oval, making full use of a six-goal opening quarter to run out 16.11 (107) to 8.4 (52) victors on the road.

Bottom-aged Croweaters Joshua Reichelt and Aidan Schubert posted 20 disposals, eight marks and a goal apiece for Central District, while Glenelg’s Kallan Bevan led all comers with 30 disposals and seven marks in a win which highlighted the ladder leaders’ depth.

Sturt posted its seventh win of the season after downing the bottom-placed West Adelaide by 29 points at Thomas Farms Oval. The third-placed Double Blues notched their fourth win in a row thanks to four unanswered goals in the third quarter, en route to saluting 13.8 (86) to 8.9 (57).

While Felix Karsaros (28 disposals, eight rebound 50s) again racked up the numbers, Sam Waltham bagged three goals and Oscar Merrett popped up with two from 22 touches in the win. For Westies, Ayden Hodgson (23 disposals, 10 tackles, two goals) did a mountain of work.
