SANFLW 15 to Watch in 2025: #14 Sarcha Taylor

A HIGH upside forward who showed bursts through the middle, North Adelaide top-ager Sarcha Taylor is another name to keep an eye on throughout the 2025 SANFLW season. Primarily dangerous as a forward, Taylor got a taste through the midfield last season where she provided some zip and broke down opposition defensive zones which suggested it might be a move of the future.

SUMMARY

A member of last year’s South Australian squad, Taylor did not get a chance to run out on the field for the Croweaters due to some injury interruptions, but was still amongst the final 30. She instead honed her craft through the SANFLW where she played forward and kicked a couple of goals, though worked more up the ground than in her previous years, even getting back to help the defence.

While small in stature, Taylor is not afraid to get her hands dirty. In a side that struggled to kick a winning score early in 2024, Taylor had to work hard for opportunities, and more often than not set up her teammates or looked to draw an extra opponent and dish off for the betterment of the team. Still developing her consistency and production, the Rooster showed enough for an invite to the Under 17 Futures showcase.

There, Taylor not only got the opportunity to play, but kicked a couple of goals for Team Prespakis in a 10-point defeat. Her forward craft and smarts around goal were on show, and with chances, showed that she can impact matches in a big way. In 2025, Taylor has become a top-ager, and with that will come other positional chances, with the small having the potential to play higher up the field again and use her explosive speed and evasion to put the ball into dangerous positions.

While still developing some of her fundamentals such as groundballs and composure, Taylor is an exciting prospect for not just this year, but the future. With plenty of room to grow, the North Adelaide top-ager can add a spark in the front half of the ground providing that balance of offensive and defensive traits at Prospect Oval.
