Top 10s | 2025 Girls Preseason Testing – South Australia

TOP-AGE Eagle Imogen Trengove was the pick of the South Australian Under 18 Girls Academy in the recent preseason testing conducted in Adelaide, with the talented utility finishing Top 10 in all six of the physical tests. She was one of two players – alongside double bottom-age Woodville-West Torrens teammate Maia Freemantle – who achieved the incredible feat.

Trengove won the agility test with a time of 8.33 seconds, just shading Freemantle in that discipline by five hundredths of a second. The top-ager recorded the second highest standing vertical jump of 59cm, finished fourth in the running vertical jump (66cm) and 20m sprint (3.22 seconds), with an equal eighth placed finish in the yo-yo test.

Freemantle – who is still three seasons away from being eligible in the AFLW Draft – was one of a number of Under 16s talents to impress against their older cohort. Glenelg young gun Ada-Mae Koch is incredibly one day away from being a triple bottom-ager, with the 2009-born talent born on December 31. She leapt higher than any other player, topping both the standing and running vertical jumps on the day.

North Adelaide’s Maya Fuller finished top four in both jumping tests, while Central District’s Jyearah Newchurch and Norwood’s Lani Cocks also stepped up across multiple tests, the former winning the 20m sprint and the latter finishing top five across three of the tests. Double bottom-ager Caitlin Hardin also took out the yo-yo test with a superior level of 17.1.

From a top-age perspective, Sophie Thredgold finished third on the agility test, marginally beating Double Blues teammate Summer Ross, while West Adelaide’s Lucy Waye and Gracie Sim, Sturt’s Lily Smart and Central District’s Sophie Eaton were other draft-eligible players to record a Top 10 finish in at least one of the tests.
