2025 AFLW Team Preview: Richmond

RICHMOND bounced back into the finals series by a narrow two points, though had a far superior percentage to eighth placed Essendon. Unfortunately a loss on the road in the elimination final ended the Tigers’ premiership ambitions early, but they can take plenty from the 2025 season.

ONES TO WATCH

Key Player: Monique Conti
Breakout Potential: Montana McKinnon
New Recruit: Sierra Grieves

Racking up her seventh consecutive club best and fairest, who else but Conti is the key to the Tigers’ success. A brilliant ball-winner and dominant all-round player, she will once again lead a Tigers side hopeful of going deeper in November. Returning from injury after missing all of last season, former Crow Montana McKinnon could be a crucial inclusion through the ruck, as could midfielder/forward Sierra Grieves who is a natural accumulator and was incredibly consistent all through her top-age campaign.

PREDICTION

Richmond is one of a number of teams right on the precipice of title contention, and could finish anywhere from the middle of the top eight to just outside. The Tigers have the pieces to do a lot of damage, it is just yet to be seen if they can do it consistently enough to worry the top sides.
