FRESH off a fixture release last week, there are plenty of tantalising matchups to keep an eye on in the WAFL Women’s, with the 2026 season set to explode from the opening day. Four incredibly intriguing contests take place across three venues on Saturday, March 28 as part of an 18-round season for the nine clubs.
A grand final rematch will take place at Revo Fitness Stadium with Claremont beginning its quest for a remarkable third straight flag. The Tigers of course take on Swan Districts, while the Fremantle Derby down at Fremantle Community Bank Oval will have more spice than ever with a large chunk of former Sharks now Bulldogs.
Subiaco will be smarting off its straight sets finals exit and hosts unlucky fifth placed West Perth at Sullivan Logistics Stadium, with the match coming after an earlier fixture between East Perth and Peel Thunder at the venue. Perth has the Round 1 bye, but will host Subiaco in Round 2, while Swan Districts, Peel Thunder and West Perth all go from away sides to home teams in the second week.
East Fremantle hosts its first game at the revamped Good Grocer Park under lights on Friday, April 10, taking on Swan Districts, with the four games spread across three days for the first time in the season. Round 6 looms as the first weekend where fans can attend all four games – starting on Friday, May 1 and concluding with a double-header on Sunday, May 3.
