NT Talent Time: Scott shines in Tigers triumph

NIGHTCLIFF kept its top three push rolling in Round 15, as young gun Adrian Scott impressed fresh off the bye. The 2006-born talent booted two goals from his 14 possessions (12 uncontested), injecting plenty of energy to the Tigers side which defeated Palmerston by 63 points on Saturday night.

Scott wasn’t the only recent NT academy and Oakleigh Chargers product to hit the scoreboard in that match. Alijah Davey, the son of Alwyn, also booted a goal as his side remains rooted to the bottom of the ladder. Meanwhile, Cohen Frith was among the Magpies’ best with 18 touches, five marks and a goal.

Despite lacking in the wins column this season, Palmerston has arguably been the NTFL’s best exponent of young local talent. That showed as Nathaniel Lampton (six disposals) was also recognised amongst the bests, while Jordan Clyne, Deacon Summerville, and Joel Munnich continue to gain experience.

Clyne was the most productive of that trio with 14 disposals at 86 per cent efficiency. Summerville and Munnich both managed single-digit hauls, but have fought well for opportunities in the top flight. The latter trio are all part of the NT’s Under 18 squad, while Lampton is in the Under 16 group.

Elsewhere, another bottom four side in Darwin has also developed an emerging cohort of young talent. Tashaun Wright continued his brilliant season with 16 disposals and five inside 50s in the Buffaloes’ 28-point loss to Tiwi. He’s been among Darwin’s bests for seven of his 12 appearances in 2025/26.

Nathan Spry finished with 13 disposals and four marks in that game, and Kalen Russell maintained his spot with 10 touches. Only a couple more under-20 prospects were scattered across the Men’s Premier League over the weekend. 16-year-old Hugo Timms returned for PINT with five disposals in a loss to St Mary’s, while Waratah’s Brody Embuscado had it eight times as his side defeated Wanderers.
