TOP 5s | 2026 NSW-ACT Girls Preseason Testing
BOTH the GWS Giants Academy and Sydney Swans Academy were put through their paces last weekend with the NSW-ACT Girls Preseason Testing event taking place and a number of massive individual performances from AFLW Draft hopefuls headlined the weekend.
>> SCROLL for the Top 5 in each test
Swans Academy’s testing took place at the Swans’ headquarters, while the Giants Academy attended the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) in Canberra. Incredible three players were statistically the best across the two events, recording Physical Performance Ratings of 85.9.
National Academy member Charlotte Tidemann, all-round talent Darcie Prosser-Shaw, and over-age star athlete Amaia Wain topped their peers from the weekend, while another National Academy prospect in Morgan Stevens was hot on their heels thanks to some ridiculous numbers in the vertical jump.
Breaking the all-time Rookie Me records in the discipline, Stevens blitzed the vertical jump (70cm) a full 11cm clear of the next best – in Wain – and the pair also featured in the quinella of the running vertical jump with 80 (best ever) and 74cm (fifth best ever) apiece. Each of them also finished second overall in the running events, with Stevens clocking a blistering 3.177-second 20m sprint, while in the Harbour City, Wain managed 8.715 seconds in the agility test.
It was no surprise to see the explosive Tidemann featuring highly across the board, smashing the agility test with a time of 8.566 seconds, while also finishing third in the vertical jump (58cm) and sixth in the 20m sprint. Prosser-Shaw beat all-comers with a jaw-dropping 3.114-second 20m sprint, while finishing equal fourth in the vertical jump and equal fifth in the yo-yo test.
North Shore midfielder/forward Heidi de Saxe did not leave without making her mark as well, with the AFL Sydney Women’s Premier Division Rising Star winning the yo-yo test in a canter. Her score of 17.07 places her inside the top 10 of all-time for the Yo-Yo Intermittent Recovery Test Level 1. Ashleigh Barlow – top five results in the vertical and running vertical and 20m sprint – and speedy Evie Bowie – top three in the 20m sprint and yo-yo test – were among the other top stars.
