PROFILE:

Chloe Bryant's year did not start off ideal, with the talented midfielder suffering an injury early in the year that kept her out for some time. Luckily she returned to not only finish off the season with Geelong Falcons, but also Vic Country playing as a midfielder and wing respectively across those sides. Under the tutelage of Mel Hickey in both teams, Bryant thrived at extracting the ball and showing her smarts across the ground.

What stands out about Bryant's game is that she is not explosive or even test that well in agility but she just has the stoppage nous to weave through traffic and clean hands to dish off to free teammates on the outside. Her work to understand the space around her is sublime and then she can push to a wing and play a hard-running role out there as well.

She is a lighter bodied player so at AFLW level playing inside midfield early on is not really a question, and Bryant will need to gain greater consistency to impact there too. However she does have the tools and traits to make it, with plenty of improvement to come.
