A representative for Vic Country this year, Billy Wilson carved out a strong season across all levels as a reliable distributor from the back half. The Dandenong Stingrays vice-captain also showed promising glimpses in the midfield towards the end of the Coates Talent League season. Regardless of position, Wilson is a solid accumulator, only dipping below 20 disposals in three of his 12 games this year and putting himself in the best spots to get the footy. His high level endurance allows him to do so throughout four quarters, intercepting before using the ball smartly on the rebound. Projecting as a half-back or wing at AFL level, Wilson likely won’t be doing a bulk of his work in congestion, but could benefit from a focus on his contested game and composure, as he is prone to panicked disposal when in such situations.
