SNAPSHOT:

T’Sharni Graham is a highly regarded youngster who has been touted as one of the more consistent Northern Territory prospects over the last few years. Since stepping onto the scene through the annual NT All-Stars game, Graham has shown her ability to play in a number of roles with great character. Though still developing her game, Graham is one who will left no stone unturned in getting the best out of herself.

STRENGTHS:

+ Versatility

PROFILE:

Graham first caught the eye back in 2021, where as a 16-year-old, she stepped up to play a key role in the Northern Territory's All-Star game playing for Team Ponter. Though it was a 14-year-old Rania Shelford who caught the eye that day, Graham showed her ability to get into the right spots and work hard both offensively and defensively.

Last year Graham was again among the best for Team Ponter in the All-Stars match in what was a tough two-game series for the side. Her consistency over multiple years lead her to earn a place in the AFLW Academy, one of only two Territorians - alongside returnee Kyanne Campbell - in the squad.

Graham's character and leadership is what stands out as a point of difference among the top-age crop, with each team she joins, raving about her impact on the group. At the preseason training session at Tullamarine, Graham was publicly highlighted by National Academy head coach Tarkyn Lockyer for her work at the session.

Though many AFLW Draft prospects are resting up and preparing for the potentially biggest two months of their young lives between school and reaching the elite level in the AFLW Draft, Graham is doing what she has always done - playing footy. Running out for Palmerston Magpies, Graham is co-captain of the black and whites, leading them to a huge Round 1 win over Wanderers.

Aside from her natural leadership abilities, Graham is known for her defensive pressure, and is an accountable player with a high work rate. That, coupled with her versatility to play in just about any position helps. She can play in defence or attack, and at times through the midfield, but has to work on her endurance as the next point of call.

Graham's endurance is the stepping stone to the next phase of her career, with the Territorian level across a number of facets in her game, but by improving her endurance, she will be able to have a greater impact for longer.

As a lower production player - she averaged 7.7 disposals at Talent League level and 4.3 disposals at the national championships - Graham has her moments in bursts. Her defensive mindset is high, and she did get to represent the Allies as a bottom-ager too.

Whether she is forward or back, Graham will be sure to play her role which is exactly what has endeared her to the various teams she has run out for. Though still that raw and developing talent who will need to improve her endurance to increase her production and impact, she has always been thereabouts for the top-age girls from the Top End.

SUMMARY:

T’Sharni Graham has some developable traits, and could be a player who will continue to add extra elements to her game, whatever level that might be at. She only turns 18 later this month, and has the composure that whatever happens in December’s draft, will be keen to help lead Palmerston to success in the NTFL Women’s 2023/24 season.
