Adelaide father-son nominee Tyler Welsh has long been on the radar of Crows rans and recruiters alike. The bustling tall forward plays in a similar mould to father, Scott, who played 129 of his 205 career AFL games in the tricolour jersey.

Welsh junior boasts a super set of hands and deceptive speed off the mark, presenting as an ominous marking target in attack whether one-on-one or on the lead. He played 10 games in Adelaide's reserves this year as part of the SANFL Rookie Program, and booted eight goals in his lone Under 18s appearance for Woodville-West Torrens.

Welsh was also South Australia's leading goalkicker at the National Championships with eight majors in four games, having burst onto the scene with a bag of five against Vic Country in last year's carnival.

While certainly a powerful athlete with potential to break open games, the 18-year-old can work on his endurance and capacity to get involved through different avenues, particularly outside of attacking 50. As it stands, he's the type of player who only needs a few moments to have an impact.

With the moments being a little patchy and some work to be done on his conditioning, expect Welsh's name to feature with a bid late in the National Draft, with Adelaide's final pick (64), or as a rookie. His experience and physical attributes mean he'll likely be able to hit the ground running, though.
