Southern Districts have won back-to-back matches in Season 2022/23 thanks to a 37-point triumph over Waratah. After the teams were even at quarter time, the Crocs slammed home 5.4 to 0.2 in the second term that was ultimately the difference. An inaccurate Darwin Buffaloes has escaped from a determined Tiwi Bombers outfit, denying the Bombers a chance to win their first game in three seasons. The Buffaloes had 29 scoring shots to 15, but struggled to convert, with the Bombers leading by nine points at half-time. Though the Buffs hit the front by the final change, Tiwi kept coming, but fell four points short of victory, 9.6 (60) to 7.22 (64).
Thomas Baulch racked up 30 disposals in the victory, taking 15 marks and providing plenty of outside run for the Buffs. Both sides were yet to win a game in the 2022/23 season, and went neck-and-neck throughout the first half. The teams were level at quarter time and the Saints lead by two points at the main break, before PINT piled on 5.3 to 0.2 in the third quarter to set up the win. Sam Fowler looked dangerous in attack, booting two goals from 16 touches, three marks and three inside 50s, as well as laying six tackles.
