THE FINAL round and second half of Indigenous round in the 2024 AFL Women’s (AFLW) season kicks off tonight with a match with plenty on the line for both sides. Hosts Geelong are looking to pull off a minor miracle and make finals this season, while the travelling Crows will be looking to get some consistency back into their game and lock in a top four finish.

Recent form
Geelong has had an up and down season to date, and although the Cats are still technically in the hunt for finals, they need a lot of things to go right in order to make it.
The Crows meanwhile will be looking to bounce back onto the winners list ahead of finals after an inaccurate performance last week cost them against the Kangaroos.
Last time they met
It has been a few years since these two have met on the field for premiership points, having not met since the penultimate round of season six.
That particular evening, it was a game of many twists and turns, but ultimately the Crows prevailed by two points.
Key stat areas
Although Kuwarna has significantly had more of the ball than the Cats have, the Cats have actually been slightly more efficient than the Crows with ball in hand.
However when it comes to inside 50 efficiency there is a significant disparity, with the Crows about doubly efficient as the Cats despite having an inside 50s figure that is four times better than Geelong’s.
Key match up/s
The key forwards for both sides are so important for their respective sides, and will play big roles tonight. Up one end there is Jacqueline Parry and Aishling Moloney, who will have to outscore the likes of Caitlin Gould up the other end.
